The Goodness of God

As I was writing this devotional, I wanted to write about how God always hears our prayers.  However, the more I thought about it the more I became overwhelmed with gratitude for God’s grace and goodness in my life. Naturally, the devotional turned into praise and worship.

When I think of how much God has done for me over the years, I become emotional. God has been my hope when all hope was gone. He is my peace in the middle of the storm. He is my reason for living. He is the reason I love in the face of hate. He is the reason for getting up when life knocks me down.

He is the Lilly of the valley; the Bright Morning Star. He is El Shaddai. He is Grace. He is the love that overwhelms us. He is the Blood that covers us. He is the First and the Last. He is the Prince of Peace. He is the Great I Am. He is The Most High.

God is a mother for the motherless and a father for the fatherless. He is the source for which we look to. He is the Comforter in the valley. He is the water walker, the healer of all diseases deemed incurable. He is wisdom. He is sight for the blind and vision for the dreamer. He is all that and a bag of chips!

  • Psalm 34:1 I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
  • Psalm 35:18 I will give you thanks in the great assembly; among throngs of people I will praise you.

Please take a moment of your day to praise God for all He has done and continues to do for you. Do not become so preoccupied looking for the big things of God that we miss the little things He does us.

From now on, keep your eyes and heart open to God’s presence in your life. Your life and worship of His goodness will be better for it.

** If anyone would like a special prayer request (Ephesians 6:18) please feel free to email me at sneedtx@verizon.net (your privacy will be respected and honored); I would love to pray for you. I also ask that you think of others whom you can share this message with as well.
