Never forget their Heavenly Father

-a-mothers-prayerWritten by my lovely wife Closhell Sneed

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”  Matthew 7:11

As a mother I find myself fighting so hard to meet the needs of our children. I have made their needs my top priority in the quest to be a good mom. I often have to remind myself how much God loves them. I have to stop my obsessing and remember their Heavenly Father has already prepared a path for them.

Can I possibly care for them better than God can? Of course not, I can only do what God gives me power and wisdom to do.  I dearly love my sons, but I have to remember I have been given a gift. It is my responsibility to guide, care, and teach them how much God loves them, but God is ultimately their Father. He will care for them.

A mother’s prayer:

Heavenly Father, I come to you thanking you for the blessing of being a parent. I thank you for considering me worthy of two of your precious sons. God I pray you will grant me wisdom and faith to train them in the way you would have them go. Please increase my faith so when doubt creeps in I can fight to remember your love. I thank you for the promises in your word, which always strengthens me. In Jesus name, Amen.

** If anyone would like a special prayer request (Ephesians 6:18) please feel free to email me at sneedtx@verizon.net; I would love to pray for you. I also ask that you think of others whom you can share this message with as well.
