“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.” Matthew 7:11
As a mother I find myself fighting so hard to meet the needs of our children. I have made their needs my top priority in the quest to be a good mom. I often have to remind myself how much God loves them. I have to stop my obsessing and remember their Heavenly Father has already prepared a path for them.
Can I possibly care for them better than God can? Of course not, I can only do what God gives me power and wisdom to do. I dearly love my sons, but I have to remember I have been given a gift. It is my responsibility to guide, care, and teach them how much God loves them, but God is ultimately their Father. He will care for them.
A mother’s prayer:
Heavenly Father, I come to you thanking you for the blessing of being a parent. I thank you for considering me worthy of two of your precious sons. God I pray you will grant me wisdom and faith to train them in the way you would have them go. Please increase my faith so when doubt creeps in I can fight to remember your love. I thank you for the promises in your word, which always strengthens me. In Jesus name, Amen.
