Issues

Young Woman Enjoying the ViewHebrews 4:15-16  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.  Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

There’s something about driving in my car or sitting in my cubical that brings about God’s revelation for me. Most of the quotes or lessons I write, God usually reveals to me during those moments. For that, I am extremely grateful and awe inspired.

One of those cubical moments came the other day as I thought about “Issues” we face in life. The spectrum is broad to say the least, but all in all the general theme of “Issues” is a universal language.

However, my bible tells me that Jesus is able to relate to universal “Issues” for He was God in the flesh. Jesus walked the face of this earth for 33 years as the son of God. The bible says in Hebrews 4:15 “…we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.”

Yet, we sometimes feel no one can relate to our “Issues.” I imagine the conversations with God go something like this; “but Lord, you don’t know my husband/wife the way I do.” Or, perhaps the conversation may sound like this; “Lord, you see what had happen was….so you don’t really understand what I’m going through now.”

There isn’t an “Issue” both high and low that Jesus cannot relate to. Furthermore, there isn’t an “Issue” Jesus cannot solve or doesn’t have a solution for. The key is a surrendered trusting heart and spirit.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says it best by petitioning us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

It is surrending the trust that causes the stumbling blocks for most of us. You see to trust is to surrender control. To trust is to rest. To trust is to quiet the war of words within our mind. Yes, to trust is to commit to the course God has set for you before you were born (Jeremiah 1:5 & Jeremiah 29:11).

My prayer is for the universal language of “Issues” to completely rest in the assurance that Jesus can relate. That we may rest in the assurance that Jesus is the way the truth and the life (John 14:6). To God be the glory, amen.

  1. Lord I have issues and I have issues with my issues! They have their little bags of baggage! 😄I love that verse Trust in the Lord…
I find that my little cubby is the same way because I control what comes in at me and therefore I focus more!
Praise report my girl is doing better yay! She is well at the present and I’m believing she will stay that way! Now a tiny request my own health is not good and I have recently submitted to treatment! It is wearing me out and I’m still working and also trying to function! I have 12 days of vacation still to take and my body is telling me it’s tired! I need prayer to make it through physically and so that I don’t forget anything and screw up! Nothing big though just if you have time! Thank you so much! Have a blessed day! MichelleMarie

      • Yes I totally agree with you there! Plus I think he likes coffee too! LOL I always think of you first thing in the morning because I know I need God first thing or my day just doesn’t go right! I wish I had more time but I do find like you said that I’ll be working away and boom something that I asked God to work on comes into view with such clarity.
I also wanted to share this that God has healed my broken heart. It had been a lifetime of hurt but a 7 year process and I can tell you I don’t hurt anymore. I don’t know how God did it that’s why I could never write a book because it was piece by piece and layer by layer and from glory to glory. It wall started when my sweet Uncle Gunn said Micki you need to find out who Micki is apart from all the people/roles in your life. That is when I realized I was invisible. Truly to those around me. That is what my invisible art was about. Becoming visible is painful for me. Sharing on a blog is huge for me and remaining open is probably the hardest thing I do. I literally could close down and not talk to a soul and be perfectly happy alone. Except for my girl. She keeps me going and laughing always. So I’ve seen God do some amazing things since I started this love walk in 2000. I also would like to request prayer for a sweet blogger her name is Julia her blog is http://crippledatyourtable.wordpress.com/ she is 24 and such a precious sweet girl. If you could read just one of her posts you will see what I am talking about.
Have a super day! Sorry for the long comments I can’t help but share here! 😀

      • Michelle, thank you for sharing. Your courage and boldness has and will continue to inspire many including little ole me. The power of the pen is a great healer for the pen is like the spirit interceding for us when we do not have the words vocally. Keep writing, sharing and resting in grace of Christ for there you will find the answers to your questions.

I was telling God today if I don’t touch one person Father with this blog that’s ok because I’ve made some wonderful friends that hold me up and prayer and support me and I’m so happy for that! Yay! I consider you one of those friends! Have a blessed day! 😀

  2. Michelle and my issues must talk because my issues have issues and grandissues and great-grandissues 🙂 But I’ve learned that even when I don’t have a clue about them or they are getting the best of me, God knows the full story.
