Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Have you ever heard the expression, “when it rains it pours?” Not only have I heard this expression, but I have used it a time or two in my life. Sometimes we’re in a season in which we must suit up for increment weather. A season in which the rain never seems to let up even when the sun wants to peek through the clouds. It is days such as these in which an umbrella is useless. Utterly useless! If you can relate, keep reading.
Not to long ago my family entered one of those rainy seasons. A season where we felt the rain would not let up. A season where you question your relationship with God. Questions like, “Lord, why is this happening? Lord, are you still with us? Lord, when is this going to pass?” Look brothers and sisters, I’m just keeping it real. I believe we must have a real, raw relationship with God. One where there is reverence with a dose of “keeping it real.”
The season for us involved a law suit in which we were sued for $1,000,000.00. I remember the day we received the letter. I read the letter and said to God, “Lord, you know we do not have he means to fight or paid this. So, we commit this into your hands for your word say in Exodus 14:14 The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still. So Lord, we are being still before you trusting that you are fighting on our behalf.”
As we waited on the Lord (the entire process took 2 years), we earnestly prayed for our adversary. We prayed that the Lord would give them that which money could not buy, which is peace and contentment in Christ. We also petitioned the prayer of other believers. This is powerful and humbling at the same time because you must be vulnerable.
The wonderful thing about God is before the final outcome, the Lord revealed to me as I was listening to a TD Jakes video that in 72 hours we would be delivered. Bishop TD Jakes was referring to 1 Samuel 30:6 when David’s men wanted to stone him because their families were taken captive. The bible says David found strength in the LORD his God.
Within 72 hours of retrieving everything he lost, David was sitting on the throne as king of Israel. I immediately knew in my spirit that in 72 hours the Lord would deliver us from what Satan was attempting to do.
The Lord heard our prayers and moved in a powerful way by putting complete strangers in place who were believers to defend our integrity. In the end the lawsuit settled for much less and with signed agreements from the plaintiff to never seek future damages. God truly is a good God who always works for the good of those who love him.
In the mist of your crisis, call on the name of the Lord for He is able to save the ones He calls righteous in His sight. Trust Him today for Jesus is Lord of Lords and King of Kings!
