Thought for the day

Ephesian 4:31-32  Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.  Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Perspective

elijah2 Kings 6:15-16 “15Now when the attendant of the man of God had risen early and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was circling the city. And his servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”

At times the peaks and valleys of life can and will shape our perspective with optimism or Pessimism. Culture, upbringing, events or our surroundings can play a significant role in shaping our perspective as well. For example, the events that took place when Elisha’s attendant saw a huge army encamped around them. I would imagine the feelings of despair, defeat and total annihilation overcoming Elisha’s attendant, for his perspective of the moment was through limited human sight. However, we as believers of the God of the impossible must rely upon and take on the mantle of spiritual eyes.

Elisha’s perspective was not defined by circumstances, culture, surrounding or events. His perspective was shaped by the power of almighty God. That same God who speaks and it becomes. That same God whose name is to be praised because He alone is worthy. Elisha only asked God to do one simple thing, which was to open his attendants eyes to change his perspective. A perspective shaped not by what was in front of him, but by what the spirit of God allowed him to see.

I pray that as you read this post your perspective will change as you ask God to open your eyes to the world of hope and miracles that surrounds you today. Receive the loving grace of God that has freely given you everything in life for success as an over comer, healed, forgiven and forgiving.

Matthew 25:36-40 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
